Why did my car AUX, steering wheel buttons and radio lights stop working?

My car battery was starting to die so I called AAA to have them come and replace it. So they send out a guy, he replaces the batter and the car turns on now. Cool but now the buttons on my steering wheel that control volume and radio station doesn't work. I tryed to plug in to the aux and it says something like aux not available and the lights on my radio also don't work. This guy fixed one problem but created 3 more… How to I get the buttons on the steering wheel to work, aux to work and lights on the radio to work again?

Its a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL

Can my 1996 make it through 5 states?

It's a 1996 Ford Taurus. I don't know anything about cars. I just know mine is old. Sometimes it makes noises and if I drive for 2+ hours at a time it tends to get hot (like if I turn it off and step out, I can feel heat coming from it sort of), but it has never overheated before (the heat thing never went into the red / it never smoke). Do you think it would last driving through 5 states? (Kansas to California). What are some tips you have in order to make the journey as safe as possible if I go through with it?

My mom wants to get a new car but wants to trade the car that works?

We have 2 cars a 2002 ford Taurus with 87,000 miles that is falling apart but she can drive it. The other is a 2005 ford mustang with 56,000 miles that I drive and she can't. Both are automatic, she's just short and the mustang is too low. She wants to trade in the mustang and buy an compact SUV and keep the Taurus for several more years but the gas pump reader is broke, the signal doesn't stay put, and the steering wheel doesn't turn properly. The mustang is practically new, it has the original tires and just a few dents and scratches. It hasn't been in any accidents, but it has problems. The problem lies mostly with the gear shift. It gets stuck in winter and and when changing the gear from one drive to another it goes into neutral. Doesn't do it when driving.

I'm not sure what to tell her, I'm trying to convince her to trade in the Taurus and get a new car but she's convinced it is a better deal to trade the mustang. I don't think it's a good idea to trade the car that works instead of the car that doesn't, ultimately it's her decision but I want her to make the right decision.

What's your opinion, Trade Taurus or Mustang for a new car?

Aftermarket Stereo Wiring Harness for 2003 Ford Taurus SE?

I recently bought a stereo, along with a wiring harness to plug into the factory one so I wouldn t have to worry with wires.
This is the harness I bought https://www.walmart.com/...3=&veh=sem
I got all the power wires from the stereo hooked up to the aftermarket harness. The stereo has power and works fine.
The problem is, there are 8 speaker wires going from the stereo, and only 3 wires are left on the adapter.
Only one of the wires is labeled: "left rear -"
I'm at an impass and could really use some advice!

What do cops drive different cars?

Does it mean anything? I mean yeah there's the regular cop cars, Ford Explorers, they mostly drive that here, and the tahoes, do you need to be a higher rank? To get to drive tahoes, Ford Taurus, challengers, and chargers? Whateever happened to the ford crown Victorian too, I don't see them around anymore…

Cyclinder 6 Misfire - After coolant line bursted? - 1

Y 2006 ford Taurus had one of the coolant lines bust, which i have since replaced. When the coolant line busted, the car did not overheat, but began misfiring. Cylinder 1,2,3 were misfiring at random intervals, so I replaced the coil pack. Those cylinders are now not misfiring, however, cylinder 6 is. I have replaced all the spark plugs, and still this one cylinder is misfiring. What else could it be? What is the worst case scenereo?
