Sorry to hear that.

Would you like to ask a question while you're here?

I have 68000 miles on it. Is it worth getting repaired?

That is low mileage, but you need to go to several other reliable shops to get their estimates ( in writing! )…$ 2500 is way over a charge for that work, and no offense, but some shops will see a female and raise the prices because they think that females are not wise; you may have to bring along a male friend

You must have annoyed them a lot. They don't want to do it but if they make 1750 profit they will.

68,000 on a 16 year old vehicle is very low mileage. A new master cylinder is a relatively straightforward procedure and certainly not $2500 worth unless the is a lot more which needs doing.

I don't know where you are located but that is way too much, for that price my shop could replace the entire braking system on your car including parts. Parts from the dealer would run you $218 and labor would run $175 basically you're looking at $395 plus tax

Get another estimate - that is a sinful amount of money just for a master cylinder replacement even with a full brake job which it shouldn't need.

If you're talking Mexican pesos, that's a fair price. But what country? Here in the USA new part, labor (@ 100 an hour), fluids, taxes and incidental fees about $250.00 US dollars…

Go elsewhere
