2003 Ford Taurus SES stereo install?
I'm trying to install an indash stereo with Bluetooth and such into my Taurus. I got the 18 foot long harness to run from the trunk to the dash but the harness only has 9 wires! (8 wires for all 4 speakers, and one wire to connect to an amp to control the amp) it doesn't have a power wire! What am I supposed to do? The stereo has a red wire to connect to constant 12v supply terminal and red to connect to terminal controlled by ignition switch but again, the wiring harness doesn't have those!
Usually the second harness is connected to the mounting kit. It fits the rectangular plug that's connected to the back of the factory control unit in the dash, and it has the power and ground wiring.
- What Ford Taurus bumpers (front or rear) would fit a 2003 ford Taurus ses? Looking around and seen someone with a 2004 front bumper on a 2003. Looks nice but curious if any other bumpers would fit? I installed new centennial edition headlights with Silver Star Ultra lights. here's what it looks like so far.
- Installing Aftermarket Head Unit in 2003 Ford Taurus SES? I can't figure out the wiring situation. I got the harness that runs all the way back to the trunk; however, it only has 9 wires. Two for each of the four speakers (8) and one to control an amp if applicable. However, while the wires from the head unit have two power wires, the harness has none. The head unit I got is a DEH-X6700BS. Please help, how do I power this head unit when the wiring harness has no wires for power, only speaker wires?!
- Can you install amp and sub into a 2003 Ford Taurus? Well I'm pretty sure you can but I noticed you have to buy the aftermarket raido kit for the car which is like 40$. And it includes the wires for heat and all that but just making sure I will be able to hook a custom head unit up to the wires inside the car?
