Suburu legacy 1990 value?

I got a 1990 suburu legacy in a sedan (automatic) anyway my run about car has a lot wrong with it which is a ford festiva and am looking for a new car and am wanting to sell my suburu legacy, problem is I don't know anything about it. Is it worth anything besides scrap it has a few things wrong with it like a frozen brake calliper and oil leak the engine runs great and it's interior and exterior is pretty good for its age. I'm wondering what it's worth?

$700-1000

In the condition you have described, it's worth about 25 cents per pound for scrap metal.

500 hundred if your lucky

Forgot to say it's only got 150,000km on its clock

Not much for numerous reasons. 1. Mechanical condition makes it a non-operable without work car. 2. The automatic transaxle has a lot of miles on it. (Subaru engines are almost bulletproof, but their automatic trannies aren't!) The 5 speed manual with a good clutch is the preferred choice in a Legacy. 3. Resale value after the first half dozen years on a car is very low. 4. The wagon was the Legacy model of choice. The sedans were never very popular.

You didn't mention if it was 2 wheel drive, or has the optional AWD set up? The AWD is worth a bit more than the 2 wheel drive if the AWD is working properly. (If it wasn't exercised often enough, the AWD was prone to giving problems, just as the older GL versions with the manual 4 WD would freeze and not go in or even worse back out of 4 WD unless properly exercised and maintained.

I had a 1984 GL wagon, 5 spd manual, 4 wd and to be quite honest, I'd trade my current Mercedes for another one. It wasn't as luxurious, but it was better on gas and even more reliable than my Mercedes! Only reason I sold it was that I went back over the road in my 18 wheeler and didn't need a car sitting for months at a time without any use.

You have what could be advertised as a "mechanics special", or "Fixer-upper" and you might get $500 out of it. Fix the little things and make sure it is running and shifting smoothly and that might reach $1000. You say an oil leak? Depending on its location, that could be a little repair (valve cover gasket, front cover, etc.) to an indication of a major problem coming soon. (head gasket, front or rear main seals, etc.

Scrap value. Put it on eBay starting at 499

  • What is the value of a Ford Econoline van 1962? I'm asking for my uncle. Last year it was $650 now this year they are saying it's $2750. Something docent seem right with this and he wants to argue it with the people at the tax office. Also it's in about fair condition not sure if that helps.
  • What is the current value of a 1973 Ford Mustang Grande? As above it's a 351 CLEVELAND - 4 BARRELL - DUAL EXHAUST - REBUILT TRANSMISSION (MUSCLE CAR SHOP) REBUILT REAR-END & OF COURSE, SMOG EXEMPT. NEED COSMETIC & INTERIOR WORK.
  • How much money should I get for the diminished value on my car? So I just bought a 2014 ford mustang v6 premium. Had a 16 year old fender bender me 3 days after I bought it. It has 400 miles on it. The estimated damage on the car is $1,600. I'm wondering what kind of money the insurance company should give me for the diminished value on the car. The damage was to the rear bumper and taillight.
  • Can i ask the ford dealer to trade my car in on full value? I bought a Ford Mustang GT in mid March brand new, but i bought it automatic. I now realize that this was a huge mistake, and i want to get the same car in manual. The MSRP on the manual is about 2000 less than the automatic. I have put about 3000 miles on the car. Do you think they will give me full value for the car?
