How to replacement a waterpump on a 2006 ford ranger?

How do you replacement a waterpump on a 2006 ford ranger?

Remove the belt and anything else needed to access it, drain the cooling system, remove bolts and pump, replace gasket and if there's any rtv remove it and install new rtv with the gasket. Torque bolts to spec, reinstall everything, fill and bleed the cooling system.

Ben do you know if you need to use a fan clutch wrench? If so I will need to either buy or rent one, Thanks Diane

  • Timing belt replacement on 1997 Ford Ranger 2.3L XLT? I'm replacing a timing belt on my ford ranger in the morning, I was curious if I have to remove the crankshaft pulley in order to time it or if I just have to line up the markings and then put the belt back on. And no suggestions to take it to a mechanic most people learn by doing themselves its an old truck so that's what I'm doing.
  • Can I put a 93 Ford ranger 2.3l in my 2006 Ford ranger 2.3l? My truck is manual, would it matter if it's a automatic or manual transmission and would the Engines line up even if it's a 93'
  • 2000 ford ranger 3.0 4x4 oil pan gasket replacement? What's it take to change? Step by step guide would be helpful. Personal tricks of the trade. What specific tools I need. Can I drop the pan enough to clean off old gasket and slide new one in? Evening day or all day or weekend project.
  • Should I get a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT or 2006 Chevy Silverado Z71? Which truck would be better… I need a tough truck to haul around kids (both are 4-door), a little off-road driving around the farm and fishing, pulling a 4k to 5k trailer. Which engine is better, Fords 5.4L or Chevys 5.3L? Is one transmission better than the other? Which will give me the least or most problems? All pros and cons appreciated, thank you!
