Can you solve these issues?

1991 Ford ranger 2.3L

The shifter swings out to the side. It shifts fine but the shifter can freely move around even when it's in gear.

The aftermarket stereo stays on even when the ignition is off. All other accessories turn off but the stereo stays on.

The only way to turn the ignition off is to hit a little button on top of the steering column to get the key to turn off.

The car takes a long time to start. You have to lay on the starter for about 15-20 seconds before the engine cranks.

Somebody has graciously let me borrow their car in my time of need and I don't have the money to take it to a mechanic but I've been known to rectify some simple issues before and would like to return it in better condition than I got it.

The shifter, there's a nylon bushing that keeps it or helps keep it firmly in place while driving Yours however sounds almost unfixable It involves removing the shifter assembly from the trans When you do that, is when you'll know if it is the bushing that bushing if its still there, If you do not see it Then most likely it crumpled into pieces. But you should have a service manual or a copy of the breakdown and installation process not to mention replacing any bushings its good to have some instructions to smooth out the job The radio, my best guess was its mis wired.Remove the radio and on top o the radio case is a wiring diagram Then your best bet is to buy a factory style radio plug IF your trucks factory plug has already been cut off to install this radio Then you'll need that manual again and locate all necessary wires by color What's happening is they took the ignition POWER wire on the radio and instead is hooked on a constant power instead Which in my opinion ends up causing [parasitic drain on the battery so get a manual cause you will need it Good luck Both are pretty easy and straight forward but get the manual if you've never done stuff like this that manual will save you

Return it just like you got it. Fooling around with someone else's vehicle can lead to disaster.

I have to turn the key to ignition about 4 times before it can start normally. some details: -The engine cranks completely fine. -Fuel Filter has been replaced -Battery is new -Fuses have been replaced -Fuel pump relay does work -once turned off, it will start again perfectly if started directly afterwards Would a new fuel pump help me out?
  • Will my ford warranty cover these issues with my car? I have a 2013 mustang v6 with performance package. It has a factory 36000 mile warranty. When I accelerate hard the engine has a ticking noise that I believe is from the valves and the acceleration is delayed when going from a stop, as well as very sluggish. I plan on taking it to ford tomorrow but would the warranty cover all this and would I be offered a loaner vehicle if they keep it overnight?
