90 Ford Ranger 2.9 exhaust smells like sulpher?

Now it just has no power and dies while driving it but usually starts right back up. Sometimes I do have to wait a while before it starts.

A sulfur odor could be a bad catalytic converter. I'm not sure about the other symptoms. It has "no power," but you can drive it?

LOL what I mean by no power, it has no pick up when you push on the gas, and not knowing if this helps but the problem usually occurs when I going up a hill

Check Engine Light on? You mean 2.3L? Sulfur or rotten eggs is too much gas being processed by the catalytic converter at one time, so your bogging out your motor.

MAF/MAP sensor bad, cam/crank position sensor, injectors leaking, FPR bad, and ECU bad.

Your catalytic converter is bad. You need to replace it. You won't pass your next emissions inspection.

Cat converter probably needs to be replavced. See a mechanic.

Too many armchair mechanics here that have no knowledge or experience and guess at things! If the converter was plugged the engine wouldn't run. If the converter didn't work, it wouldnt make the sulphuric acid smell. It's doing its job, but your engine has a fuel system problem. It's too rich. You probably have black soot inside your tailpipe.

Chris has the right answer. Robert too.

Ben, Brian, Al and sc0rpyo don't have a clue.

And YOU need to get your car to a mechanic!
