I'm trying to put this engine on my 1970 mustang fastbackWhat manual transmission would fit a ford racing 302 crate engine

Toploader 4spd
you don't want a borg warner T10 unless you like broken transmissions
T5
T6

I've got a 1967 toploader 4spd in my 65 mustang had it for years they are indestructible.
tremecs are great but they aren't near as tough as a toploader. Especially if you can find and afford a nascar toploader… Funny those transmissions were built in the late 60's through the 70's and its the main transmission still used in almost every NASCAR entry you can find.

Tremec is top loader plus one. Will be fine for road car unless you are going to drive it like a nascar

or widen tunnel and use a t56 (yes viper 6 speed)

Depends. Any borg warner. Tremec will also fit but the bell housing will have to change. Tko, etc will work.
