No. You must be thinking of 64 1/2. It came out late in the year but too early to be a '65. Historically, model change-over is when factories shut-down to re-tool for a couple of weeks in August. Then production resumes and the new models start showing up at dealer lots in Sept.
Nope. The First Mustangs were called 1964 1/2 models because they were released for sale to the public in the middle of the 1964 model year. There were no 1965 1/2 models.
No, just 1964.5 but often people lump those in with 1965 too
- What is the mustang battle contest thing? I was customizing a 2014 shelby GT500 mustang on the ford website to see how much it would cost and it is saying i can log into facebook and battle to win the exact car i customized. What's this all about? I need answers pronto, there's no way in hell i could ever afford a car like this so winning one is my only option.

- How much would it cost to maintain (annually) a 1965 Ford Mustang? I'm planning to purchase a 1965 Mustang. The one I'm looking at is mechanically sound, and in very good overall condition. I will probably drive it 5K-7K miles/yr. I don't work on vehicles myself so it will have to go to a mechanic for service. Can anyone give me a rough estimate?
- Could Ford manufacture a replica 1965 Mustang if I had the money for it? I ask because I'm not sure if there are laws that prohibit car makers to produce vehicles that don't meet modern safety standards.
