Is it weid that I'm not interested in having a fast or sporty car?

I'm a 17 year old male. I've noticed other people my age want something fast like a Camaro or Corvette. Or they want something really fancy like a Mercedes or BMW. Or trucks and SUVs like Jeep Wrangler, Escalade, Range Rover or an off road pickup. The cars students drive range from beat up old Saturns, Chevy Cavaliers, Civics and pickup trucks all the way to brand new Toyotas. My one friend has an Infiniti G35. Sure I want a car like a Mustang but, I'd rather drive that in summer and nice weather. I'll drive a truck or SUV in winter. I don't really want some high end car. I'd be happy with an old truck, SUV or van. I have an old rusty truck that I drive. Is it weird that I don't want some fast car or sports car?

Added (1). I've driven fast and fancy cars before.

Added (2). I'd rather have an old Ford or Chevy than a new high end luxury car.

Added (3). I like my old truck. It's simple, easy to drive, and easy to work on.

Added (4). I have a classic Ford truck and I love it.

As a teenager from another era (late 70's I find your attitude refreshing. When I was a Junior in high school my parents bought me a 66 Chevy Bel-air after a failed attempt trying to get the car I bought running. It was cheaper plus my Dad could work on it and even had some Chevy parts. I was happy to have it. Most teenagers cars in my days were 10 years old or more and we made do with what we had.

I'm 17 too and i'm not a big fan of cars. I have friends who care more how the care looks, how fast it is and how new it is which i sad considering how often there cars break down. I think its nice you have a truck they seem to be more reliable and you don't have to worry about getting stuck in the rain which here in texas (where i live )its ideal

No, I know a lot of people that would prefer to have a classic truck like a c10

People are unique, we all have different taste, personality, and liking. But a lot of teens, are very easily influenced by image of stereo typical society, that having something expensive, or fast car would gain them popularity or other benefits. Your choice on the other hand tells my that you are more practical person which is good.

No, your growing up to realize not even teen needs to a clone of all the other teens. You can like or dislike any cars and truck you want too.

People usually get over their car fantasies sooner or later.

  • What are the MAIN REASONS that people are so interested in the Ford vs Kavannaugh testimony? I don't get it. People are just crazy about this story, I could not care less. I don't see what the big deal is. Is I the sex allure of the story? (but even then this happened back during the early 80s when they were like teeny boppers? Who cares?) he could even come up with a ruling to kick all these illegals out of the country? Do you think he would?
  • Sporty first car 4 cylinders? Hi, I'm looking for my first car I want a four-cylinder because its better on gas insurance will be lower but I also want something sporty and not something everyone has I like the Ford Probe but there's not many around where I live
  • Sporty but powerful trucks? I'm a truck guy which means I like the power and durability of a truck but I also like to go fast like you would in a car. Are there any trucks that have a mix of the two performances? I've been looking at the Ford Raptor, but I can't find any others. Anyone know something like the raptor?
  • Sporty and somewhat unique sedan under 10k? I'm trying to find a used sedan of any make or model that is sporty and preferably can have a manual transmission. It also needs to be somewhat reliable, and easy to work on. I would also be like for this vehicle to be 2005 and up, and under 10,000 dollars. I have looked into some Volvo's, Subaru's, and Audi's. I'm open to anything from a Ford to a Saab, I would really like it to stand out as well!
