Check fuel fill inlet. 2013 Ford Mustang?

I'm 18, I saved up all my money from work and I just bought a 2013 mustang in cash less then a week ago from a dealership. I bought the gold premium warrenty for 48 months. A message came up that said "check fuel fill inlet" a few days ago. Not positive on what it means, or the severity of it. Some insight would be great.

Gas cap buddy

This car has Ford's "Easy Fuel" capless fuel filler inlet. The inlet may have an obstruction stuck in it or the check ball may be stuck. If you have the warranty, I'd take it in. This may be considered an emissions equipment issue, which should be covered under a federally mandated warranty anyway.

Check the gas cap. You may not have gotten it on tightly.

Gas cap, pop her off and back on good… Or it thinks gas cap (vacuum leak losing gas tank pressure)

Really? You know the cap you take off to gas up. I can't imagine they built it into the door that pops open, if so then that

dang thank you fodaddy

"it would appear that sticking Easy-Fills aren't that uncommon, with the cure usually being a vigorous hammering at the dealership."

There's a pollution system that sucks the gasoline vapors out of the gas tank when the car is just sitting, to keep them from escaping to the athmosphere. That system requires that the gas cap completely seal the fuel tank, even to a vaccuum. If the gas cap is either loose or leaking, it will give you that error code.

Ford Mustangs are cool

  • Is it normal to have to fill the gas tank of a 2000 ford Taurus se every week? Don't laugh. I'm ignorant about cars and this is my first one. I own a 2000 Taurus station wagon. I drive 6 miles to work and 6 miles back every day and don't drive many other places than that. I live in the city. I'm filling my tank every week and my boyfriend says that's way too much. He says I should replace the spark plugs. Would he be correct?
  • Inlet outlet measurements? Does anyone know the inlet outlet measurements for my 1996 ford ranger. By the way it's a 3.0 V6
  • 2013 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 or 2015 Ford Mustang 5.0? Looking into buying a mustang this summer. Really looking into the new models, but am also loving the BOSS 302 model… To my understanding people are saying that the 2015 mustang is basically a Boss 302 but even better. Of course thats one pro for the 2015 model, but at the end of the day… A Boss 302 is a Boss 302… No other one like it. Would just like to hear opinions or thoughts on which car would better or which car do hardcore mustang owners prefer?
  • What should I buy and why? 2013 ford fusion it 2013 civic coupe? I like the sporty edge of Both the coupe and fusion, but they're very different cars. I'm a male. Want gas mileage
