Can I get 2 Ohm Speakers to replace my 4 Ohm stock speakers?

I have a 2006 Ford Mustang and my stock speakers are blown. They are 4 Ohms and their model number is 6U5T-18808-CA. I'm not very interested in getting stocks put back in because I'm sure they will just blow again.

Can I replace the stock with 2 Ohm speakers? I have a Sony XAV-701HD Deck installed.
I'm looking for 6x8 / 5x7 speakers that have good sound and pretty good base. The sound quality is more important. I don't know which is better 2 or 4 Ohm. I feel dumb asking this question, but thanks for your help. I would consider getting component speakers.
If I wasn't detailed enough in my question reply with what I need to elaborate on!

My price range is 100-200. 200 only if they are really nice speakers.

Could you guys/gals give me some suggestions on what I should get? A link or anything helps

4-ohm car speakers are much more common, but 2-ohm models are out there. If you're using the head unit to drive the speakers, though, you should use only 4-ohm speakers. 2-ohm speakers require a separate amplifier.

Don't rule out 6-1/2" speakers. You can use an adapter plate to install 6-1/2" speakers into a 6x8" speaker location, and you'll find a lot more options with 6-1/2"s.

  • What speakers/subs should I get? I'm about to turn 16 and I'm wanting to get some speakers and a sub/s for my car. I'm not very educated with them. Which ones should I get? What brand is good? How many watts for the speaker and sub and amp? What brand would you recommend? They would most likely be going into a ford ranger if the type of vehicle matters.
  • What size rims can I put to replace my stock rims? I have a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge. Looking to replace the rims, but don't know much about trucks and rims. My tires are p235/70r16.
  • Should I replace my 99 Ford Ranger 3.0 auto with a 302 or keep stock? My 99 Ranger is starting to die at the engine and transmission. I'm planning to keep the truck because it's sentimental but should I replace the 3.0 with a 302 or should I either rebuild the 3.0 or replace with another 3.0?
  • Can I fit 31 inch tires on a stock 1998 ford ranger XLT 2wd? I have a stock 1998 ford ranger XLT 2wd at stock hight and currently have have the tire size 225/70R14. I wanted to put 31x10.50R15LT on it. (31 inch tires). Would I have to lift my truck to put that on there or can I ride 31s stock.
