2005 Ford Mustang GT engine/spark knock?
It seems to have a engine/spark knock at idle. I can take off and it drives fine. Oil pressure gauge is normal. Car just had a fresh oil change and air filter change. Oil is motorcraft 5W20. Car has 111k miles on it. If I turn the car off, and turn it back on the knock goes away. No check engine light is coming on. Any help will be appreciated
Check engine light is only in case the emissions control system is giving a code. Other issues can still have a code but not trigger the check engine lamp. You need to get the codes read from the OBD2 port regardless.
- What engine type does the 2005 Mercury Monterey (Ford) van have? Is it a Nissan engine? Looking to buy a 2005 Mercury Monterey Van. I was told it has a Nissan engine by a friend. However, I can't find anything stating that. Also, what are they known for, as far as, issues/problems? I want to know what I getting into? Ford Fusion has developed and Engine Knock and another mechanical issue. Thinking about getting it repaired or trading it in for a newer Jeep Patriot with low mileage. I would have to roll $3000 of negative equity over to new loan. Any thoughts?

- Having trouble with engine knock of 1992 ford f150? I'm buy my first car it is a 1992 ford f150 everything is in good condition other then a knock in the engine. What is causing the knock is completely unknown was wondering if it could be dangerous and or what the knock could be?
