MAZDA 3 ATF fluid. WHICH ONE?
So i'm planning on doing a drain and flush my ATF on my 2005 MAzda3 2.0L, auto transmission with 123K miles.
The dipstick and also owners manual says "ATF M-V" and by the research I was doing on the internet in forums etc it means "Multi-Vehicle" and NOT "Mercon 5" which is different type of ATF for Ford vehicles… But am I right?
So, I went to the parts store in town, and they only have these 3 types of ATF, the Synthetic is 50% more expensive than the other 2.
Can I use either type?
The non-synthetic says on the quart bottle:
"For use in vehicles previously serviceable by DEXRON III & MERCON Brands"…
Any suggestions on what type of ATF should I use? Or can I use either one?
Here is the youtube videos that i'm looking at to do the flush:
Thank you very much for sharing any suggestions!
The rule I have always heard/followed is over 100k go synthetic.
Ford/Motorcraft FNR5 is actually the correct fluid, though I'd agree that it's time for a synthetic.

- ATF type for 2008 ford focus? Hi, I need to know what kind of ATF uses a 2008 ford focus. I don't have the owners manual because i bought the car in used condition. The other question is how many quarts of atf do I have to buy to change it? In the past I've been done this work with my old car so I know how to do it.
