I'm about to be 16 and looking for my first car

I have to buy my own car, but I have a few requirements. First, It has to be less than $3,000. I can't afford anything more than that. I'd also like it to have good gas mileage due to the fact I live 15 miles away from any potential job. Then, last but not least, I'd like it to look nice too. I know this may be a lot to ask for, but any help would be much appreciated.

KBB.com says the private party value of a 2005 Focus SE 4 door with standard equipment in good condition and 100,000 miles is about $3100, so you may have to back down to a 2004, the first year Ford got a handle on some design problems. The Focus comes in various body styles, most of them reasonably sporty. I especially like the Ford engine temperature management system, which saves a lot of head gaskets from failure if the coolant leaks out. Cheap to buy, cheap to own, cheap to feed and cheap to insure. USED HONDA, AND WHO IS GOING TO PAY THE INSURANCE
