Doesn't hurt, but it really doesn't do any good either. READ the owner's manual and use the grade of fuel that's recommended by the manufacturer.

Depends on the octane rating your vehicle requires. There are 3 ratings of octane. Your car may or may not specify on which octane rating to use. There's octane 87, 89 and 91. Not using the correct octane fuel could result in "engine knock" which could potentially be very bad for your engine but its really not a big deal if your engine knocks a few times i guess? I wouldnt want mine to, but thats what they say. Engine knock happens when your air/gas mixture inside of the piston ignites and combusts either too early or too late. So if you are worried about it then refer to your vehicles manual and find your octane rating. 87 is regular 89 is plus and 91 is premium.
Hope this helps!
