Where is the thermostat located on a 2004 Ford Focus ZX3?
Follow the upper big black radiator hose from the radiator back to the engine. It will connect to a square block mounted to the cylinder head. The thermostat is between the hose & the block. Also, there was a rash of bad thermostat housings, the square block, around then. The bad housings allowed the engine to leak coolant when it was pressurized, but not when it was cold. If you car is losing coolant but you can't find a leak, you could have one. Can't fix it, just replace the housing.
