What's the best gas for a ford focus?
Use regular, 87 octane. If it's 2011 and older, you will experience no performance or mileage improvement. If it's 2012 and newer, you will experience very slight gains, since it is a much more advanced engine, but you're still wasting your money. Unless you have the sporty Focus ST, don't use anything higher than 87 octane. As for fuel brand, go to Shell. They have the best quality gasoline
Any top tier 87 octane gasoline would be ideal.

BTW, the use of a gasoline with higher octane levels would not increase the performance or fuel economy of your Ford, it would only be a waste of cash.
I would guess normal 87 octane which the engine was probably designed to use.
Unless your engine is high performance and/or designed to use a higher grade fuel there's really no point in using better gas on a normal focus
I put the 89 in my focus SE(2016) and the transmission issues I seem to have been having while filling up on the 93 seem to have gone away. Does this sound right to anyone else?
- I was getting gas in my 94 ford ranger EXTCAB and gas was pouring out under truck? How do I see if its the fuel neck? I used a tiny auto camera to stick all the way down the gas neck and didn't see any holes
- Gas gauge issues 2001 ford ranger 2wd manual 3.0 engine. 12 gallon gas tank? The gas gauge fluctuates between 3/8 and 7/8 somewhat correlating to the amount of gas in my tank but it isn't accurate. I'm hoping it isn't the float in the gas tank and would like to cover everything else before i drop my gas tank. additional information will be added as requested Gas gauge problems? 2001 ford ranger with a 3.0 engine manual transmission and a 12 gallon gas tank
