Ford Focus A/C and over heating?

I have a question concerning a 2007 ford focus with a 2.0 DHOC engine.
When the car is first started in the morning the AC works great, it will freeze you out. After driving for 2 or 3 hours and the car is stopped for fuel or a break, the A/C stops working.
It may blow cool, but not cold. If the A/C is ran the car will start to over heat. None of this occurs until the car is shut off for the first time after driving for several hours.
If the A/c is not ran then the car s tempature will run at normal all day long.
I havechecked freon levals and it says it is good, and I know the A/C compressor is kicking in and running.
What might be some other causes for this issue?

Compressor is freezing up and providing hard load on the accessory belt. Your engine can't handle the added load. Clean your cabin air filter and have your A/C system moisture removed.

  • My car is over heating? I literally replaced EVERYTHING I COULD THINK OF. My moms boyfriend is a "mechanic" but he seems to make everything WORSE. I'm so upset it's annoying. It's a 2007 Ford Taurus (a complete piece of ****) and I want to resolve this issue. I can't afford a new car anytime soon.
  • Ford Ranger over heating problem? I have a 2004 ranger edge 4.0L V6. I keep having a an overheating issue only when going up hill. I tried checking the fan clutch, doesn't even get passed one rotation so I think thats good. I don't think it is the water pump as that went out on me about 2-3 years ago and was replaced. Should I do a coolant flush? What are some other test i can do to determine the cause of the problem? Also it was bubbling/overflowing from the reservoir today (first time that has happened)
  • I have a 1997 ford windstar and it over heated and now has milky sludge in the air filter drum? Car over heated no coolant filled coolant. It drank two full bottles running very rough miss firing and now there's a milky sludge blowing back through the air intake…
  • I have a Ford Fusion 2008V V6. The AC-Heating blower motor is making a cricket sound? I have a Ford Fusion 2008V V6. The AC-Heating blower motor is making a cricket sound. It works fine but once in blue it makes that sound. My question is. Do I need to replace it or can I just leave it like that?
