Ford Focus 2006 - 2011 Low Fuel Economy Problem (Misfire)?

I have recently bought an 06 Ford Focus Sport which had a slight misfire when I bought it but was doing roughly 40mpg, then I found oil on the spark plugs so I replaced the rocker cover gasket. I drove it until I could get new ignition parts and the engine management light came on and the misfire became a lot worse, the engine was shaking.

I then proceeded to replace the spark plugs (BOSCH), HT Leads (CAMBIARE) and placed a new coil pack (BOSCH). I did these individually and the misfire went after the coil pack was placed on. After driving it for 20 miles the car was misfire a tiny bit not as much as before but now the engine management light was flashing and when placed on diagnostics threw up P0302 which is a misfire in cylinder 2.

The car is now doing 20MPG. Can anyone help?

It could be a few things.Faulty spark plug or wire Faulty coil (pack) Faulty oxygen sensor(s) Faulty fuel injector Burned exhaust valve Faulty catalytic converter(s) Running out of fuel… Poor compression. Defective computer

  • Why is my fuel economy so bad? I have a 2000 ford falcon forte petrol engine, and it's fuel is still terrible, I've had a fuel service done, a fuel treatment done, even an transmission service done. The transmission service did a hell of a difference, but it's still not fixed. The diagnostic scan came up empty, ruling out any electrical problem. What can it be?
  • Will a new exhaust actually increase horsepower and fuel economy in my 2001 ford ranger 4.0? I'm looking at the flowmaster 40 series duel exhaust here: http://www.truckexhaustkits.com/ranger-96-04-dual-exhaust-2-25-ma-pipe-flowmaster-40/
  • 2016 ford 5.0 GT Mustang fuel economy? I already drive a mustang and probably get about a weeks worth of gas before I fill up or less. Holds about 14.3 gallons to 15. The question is i'm getting a 2016 GT 5.0 manual Mustang and want to know if it will be worse or about the same, or better?
  • How to fix a misfire problem on a 302 Ford? I have a 1970 Torino with a BOSS 302 and the number 6 cylinder(2nd cylinder from the firewall on the passenger side) is misfiring. I replaced the spark plugs, the spark plug wires, ignition coil, distributor(cap and rotor) and its still misfiring. It's always been that same cylinder since I bought the car a few months ago. I don't know if it has compression or it the valves are messed up, but when I took the wire off of the spark plug, it was sparking as the engine was running.
