Just buy a shortbed chassis and box (with rear end and driveline, along with chassis wiring harness), transplant your cab, engine and everything else.

Factor in a couple hundred hours labor.

OMG do you have a about 7500 bucks frame would have to be cut, all new brake lines, a new or used short box, new drive shaft, all new wiring for the tail lights

Buy a 1996 short-bed. Transplant a few parts or bumper stickers and the air fresheners and dangling dice from your long-bed. Sell the long-bed.

MUCH cheaper.

Defiantly not worth it. You would have to shorten the frame, fabricate new mounts for the bed, gas tank (possibly), rear axle. You would have to get a new shorter drive shaft. You mine as well sell the one you have and buy a shortbed.
