Ford F-150 V6 Twin Turbo or V8?
I think they are both overpriced, but the 3.5 claims to have a higher tow rating than the V8.
I love the ecoboost engines. They are a good push towards modern technology in an otherwise fairly stagnant segment.
for a very very long time, the full sized pickup truck segment was dominated by big V8s with very little in the way of valve control, accurate fuel management or even running proper levels of compression.
the Ecoboost is a great sidestep from this mentality showing what technology can do if you arent too afraid of change.
Engine technology has moved on so far since the 1950's when the V8's were produced.
Ecoboost engine technology has been around in Europe and Japan for a long time.
Ford are at last trying to drag US buyers into. The 21st century.
Here in the UK I drive a V6 twin turbo diesel. 255bhp 600NM torque.
Economical and powerful.
Just drive both and you will love the ecoboost engine.
The downside is this is a high tech engine it needs proper servicing with the correct oils. Not just a cheep.oil change at a quick lube place.
The only thing the ecoboost has is that it has been tuned to deliver peak torque at low rpm. Other than that, ecoboost fuel economy ratings are a joke and while under load, the V8 will probably use less fuel.

- 0-60 time for a 2006 ford mustang with 7lbs of turbo boost? I'm about to buy a 06' mustang gt automatic with a single turbo that has 7lbs of boost. It has 450 hp. I'm basically wondering what the 0-60 time might be and the quarter mile and maybe top speed. This is a picture describing things it has.
- I would like to know if 04-08 Ford F-150 rear suspension parts would fit on my 1998 Ford F-150? I'm building a prerunner and have already received a long travel kit for the front of my 1998 Ford F-150, but I'm having trouble finding rear suspension parts for it. Honestly I'm perfectly fine with just a pair of Fox 2.5 Factory piggybacks, but I can only find some for the 04-08 Ford F-150 and I just wanted to know if they would bolt onto my 1998 Ford F-150.
