99 Ford f150 4x4 won't engage sometimes?
I have a 99 Ford f150 with the 4x4 not engaging when I drive it a while. Seems when it's not been drove it's will work perfect if I put it in to low then into high. Any suggestions?
Any suggestions…
buy a Chevy.
Might be transmission wind-up. Drive a short distance in reverse or on a loose-surface road. That usually unlocks it.
Mine does the same thing, but usually if I put it in reverse and back up like 2 feet then put it into drive again it'll click in
- I have a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited. The air cond. Compressor is taking forever to engage? The problem gets worse the higher the outside temp. And when the car is idling. Freon level is normal, and the compressor is not short cycling. Any ideas? Forgot to add that the condenser fan is running non-stop at idle when compressor is not cycling.
- How is fording a river in a manual 4x4 different to an automatic 4x4? I had forded a river with a LR Defender before and usually stuck it in Low 2nd gear and push through the river at 2-3k rpm. Luckily I never got stuck in the middle but I remember reading somewhere that it is easier to ford rivers with an automatic gearbox due to the lack of clutch housing? Since automatic gearbox won't really stall in the middle of the river, would it be okay to shift it in reverse if stuck?
- Ford focus 1.8 petrol automatic.Sometimes car won't start then after a few mins it will? Dash reads speed acceleration reduced.Engine malfunction.Car seems to be driving ok otherwise. Any help thanks.
- Front Passanger side tire ceased won't move f150 4x4. Reasons? 1994 Ford F-150, Straight 6, 5 speed, 4x4 front passenger tire ceased up. Will not spin in 4x4 or 2wd. No play in the tire, tire was making popping noises when turning and scraping, high pitched squeaking noises when driving earlier. Any reasons, or explanations?
