Why my 2000 Ford explorer xlt leaking gas from the tail pipe?
$80 gas 25 miles the truck drinking gas white smoke and gas coming out of tail pipe
White smoke from the exhaust is an indication of coolant entering the combustion chamber. This is most often caused by a blown head gasket, cracked head, or both. This is the very first thing you need to have repaired. STOP driving this car or you will destroy the engine. Excess fuel burning will produce black smoke. Once you have the critical head gasket issue fixed you can then address the issue of fuel consumption.
The ford explorer 4.0 litre V6 engines are unreliable due to crank-bearing faillures, headgasket & piston rings.
- Why did my 2000 Ford Windstar just blow all off the tranny fluid out. But now its not leaking anything? I drove it with a trailer attached all day then I dropped the trailer off and drove home. When a was turning on to my street the car violently shuck but kept going I pulled into my drive way and looked under my car and big puddle of tranny fluid everywhere. So I filled it up this morning and drove it 75 miles and when I got back I was still full on fluid and nothing was leaking. So WHY?
- Why is my car leaking gas? I have a 1995 ford taurus gl. It's a slow leak but getting worse. It's leaking from near the back. In need of details and an estimate of how much the fix with cost
- My buddy has a 99 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that is leaking oil from rear passenger wheel. Any ideas on why? The brake cover is not pushed all the way against the hub. There's a half inch gap between them. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. So it has nothing to do with the wheel bearing?
- What causes the raw gas smell on the drivers side of a 1994 Ford explorer xlt 4x4? Raw gas smell coming out from drivers side near gas tank, saw a rusted spot on the top gas line at rear near tank. Also off topic but the gas gauge says empty when according to specs it still has 4 to 6 gallons left.
