Where is the oil filter on 2003 ford Explorer v6?
Hi like most engines it will be either hanging down covered in oil or stuck up at some strange angle. A can about the size of a large flask with a nut on the end.
If I remember correctly, either on the front side of the engine or on the rear passenger side. Motorcraft fl820s I think.
- I have oil coming into my air filter in my 1990 F1-50 ford truck? I need someone give me lot of ideas what this might can be, I have a 1990 F 150 ford truck and its a 5.8 and I don't know why my oil coming from the top to the air filter making me lose lot of oil.
- How often should I change the oil in my 2003 Ford Explorer? I have a 2003 Ford Explorer V6 4.0L. The odometer says 214,000 miles but I recently had an engine put in with 83,000 miles. It's been 3k miles later, and I'm wondering when I should change the oil.
- 2003 Ford Explorer 4x4 4.6L V8 oil change? I have a 2003 Ford Explorer 4x4 with the 4.6L V8 with about 137000 miles and it's due for an oil change and its the first since I have owned it but I do not know what the previous owner used. The manual tells me to use 5w20 but I have been told its probably better to use 10w40 because of the mileage but I don't know if this is true. Also full synthetic vs synthetic blend? Best brand? TIA for responses!
- Car leaking oil, not sure if its from oil filter or transmission? So I have a 1998 Ford windstar that broke down because the transmission just basically gave up on it. Anyway, before it broke down we gave it an oil change and it wasn't leaking any oil. After the transmission gave up, a couple months afterwards, it starts to leak oil. Could this be from the transmission or the oil filter? By the way, I know absolutely nothing about cars.
