Where do i find the door lock codes on a ford explorer?

I can't seem to find the codes for the locks anywhere in this car. I know that the navigators have them under the glove box on a sticker behind it.

This video shows you how to locate the RAP module with the code on the outside.

It should be located near your fuse box.

This site would be useful for this and other questions regarding your car / SUV. http://www.explorerforum.com

Ford has placed the module in several locations over the years. In a door panel, inside the side panel behind the driver side rear seat, under the dashboard. The year would be necessary to know for sure where it is located. Then go to the explorer link and look for your model on their site. Over the years, Ford has also changed the name of the keyless entry security module. It is also tied to the ignition, as part of the anti-theft system. It is also tied to the wireless keyfob entry, as well as the key pad on the driver's door. They also have the detailed instructions for clearing and setting your own personal door codes. Never give out the factory code, it can't be changed, any other code can be cleared and reset to some other pin number. In most models, you can have up to 4 different personal codes for your door lock code.

The keyless entry module is generally the same for all ford vehicles, just the serial number / master code is unique, similar to radio unlock codes. Both of these are provided on separate cards and meant to be kept with the owner manual and is supposed to be transferred to the next owner when you sell the car. It would be a good idea to record them and keep them with the car title, owner manual and other important papers for the vehicle. They are likely going to be needed with several routine service procedures when the battery is disconnected for the maintenance to be completed.

  • Why does my car door unlock after I lock it? When I rent cars (most recently, a Toyota Prius and a Ford Fusion), I'm frustrated because I'll lock the doors, both from the inside and from the key fob, but when I check to make sure that they're locked, they will unlock when I touch the handle. What causes this? Do they unlock if the key fob is within a certain range? When I lock the doors, I want them to stay locked!
