Should this woman be compensated?

While driving down the highway, her airbags in her 2004 Ford Explorer suddenly inflate. Luckily, she was able to pull over safely, and no one was hurt. But, her insurance will not cover the cost of repairing and replacing the airbags because it wasn't an accident, and a malfunction instead. So she wants Ford to pay the cost. Ford has stated they want her to sign a release to allow them to have the data from the vehicle, so they can review and find out what happened. She refuses, and still demands that Ford pay.

Is she entitled to any compensation from Ford for the malfunction?

No, absolutely not. Until she cooperates in the investigation to find out WHY this happened, she should NOT receive any compensation.

Not unless she allows a full investigation and the results prove her story.

Unless Ford can see the data and determine why they wen toff, no way to tell if it wasn't her fault. Any judge would agree with that.

Ford is not refusing to pay for the damage. They are insisting to know why it happened which is exactly what they should be doing. Her refusal to let them investigate the situation is suspicious.

Yes, she should.

She is entitled to nothing. Her behavior says it all.
