Problem Putting gas into my 2005 Ford Explorer?

Added (1). I have a 2005 ford explorer V6. The past week every time I go to a gas station and put gas in, it only let me put about 20 cents in before shutting the pump off as if my tank is full, but it really isn't.

I have tried everything I can think of, I gone to cheap and expensive gas stations. That doesn't help. I checked and made sure there's noting wrong with the outside of the gas line. I don't want to take it to a repair shop and pay a ton of money to fix it.

The only way for me to put gas into

So what's the problem?

With what it cost i have trouble puting it in my lawnmower

You might have an clog in the evap system. Normally the fuel tank is vented into a charcoal filled canister that absorbs the fumes from the fuel. If that canister gets liquid fuel in it or the line to it gets clogged or kinked close, the tank won't vent and the pressure builds up when you're refueling and that pressure trips the fuel pump nozzle.

I know this sounds stupid, but does that truck have dual gas tanks? In which case you'd be filling the full tank, but switched onto the empty tank… Happened to a friend of mine when he borrowed my truck one time…
