Problem Putting gas into my 2005 Ford Explorer?
Added (1). I have a 2005 ford explorer V6. The past week every time I go to a gas station and put gas in, it only let me put about 20 cents in before shutting the pump off as if my tank is full, but it really isn't.
I have tried everything I can think of, I gone to cheap and expensive gas stations. That doesn't help. I checked and made sure there's noting wrong with the outside of the gas line. I don't want to take it to a repair shop and pay a ton of money to fix it.
The only way for me to put gas into
So what's the problem?
With what it cost i have trouble puting it in my lawnmower
You might have an clog in the evap system. Normally the fuel tank is vented into a charcoal filled canister that absorbs the fumes from the fuel. If that canister gets liquid fuel in it or the line to it gets clogged or kinked close, the tank won't vent and the pressure builds up when you're refueling and that pressure trips the fuel pump nozzle.
I know this sounds stupid, but does that truck have dual gas tanks? In which case you'd be filling the full tank, but switched onto the empty tank… Happened to a friend of mine when he borrowed my truck one time…

- Will a 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 engine go into a 99 ford ranger, if not what small trucks will it work with? I just had to rebuild the engine in my 2005 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6. Was wanting to know if it could go into a 99 ford ranger, if not what small trucks or cars are interchangeable?
- How to know if a vehicle is worth putting money into? I bought a 2005 Ford Ranger 4x4 5 speed and it is mechanically sound except for the timing chain rattle. The underside truck is rusty due to being in the North for 13 years of its life. I want to get rid of as much rust as possible to paint and protect the frame, but I don't know if this truck is worth putting money into. Any tips to decide if it is worth it? Or should I look into buying a new truck?
- 1997 Ford Ranger 4.0 V6 won't shift into drive after being driven. Takes longer than should to shift into drive when first started? It will go in reverse fine. First thing in the morning when I leave for work, it will shift into drive on it's own, but takes a bit longer than it should. After getting it warm, won't shift into drive at all. I can shift down to 1st or 2nd, then back into drive and it will "pop up" into drive within a second or 2. I also have a ODB2 error P1744 (Torque Converter circuit).
