Are you low on coolant, or it can be a bad thermostat.
Thermostat could be stuck shut which will cause overheating and cool or luke warm air to come from the vents instead of hot air.A thermostat that's stuck open can also cause cool or luke warm air from the vents because coolant is never allowed to stay inside the engine long enough to get hot because its constantly being circulated back into the radiator where airflow further removes any heat that was present in the coolant.A clogged heater core also causes your problem. You can remove both hoses from the heater core pipes at the firewall, use a garden hose to spray water through the larger of the two pipes to see if rusty colored water comes out. If it does, the heater core is probably clogged.Spray water until it runs clear then do the same procedure to the other pipe.Reconnect hoses and test the heater. If the cooling fans are constantly running due to a defective relay, cooling fan switch(if equipped)or suspect pcm(computer)that will also cause no heat.Low coolant level is also a cause
- Why isn't my 1999 Ford Windstar heat not working? Last winter was pretty cold and I have been working to try fixing my heating problem. I took it to a shop and he said I'd have to take it to the dealer. My budget isn't that high so I replaced the blend door acuator myself and that didn't fix my problem. Not sure what to even try. My A/C works fine and air will blow out but absolutely no heat. Need Help!
- 2003 Ford Taurus SES heat not working correctly? The thermostat will be up to temp where it should be reading on my dash, I also have plenty of antifreeze in and I'm almost positive that wouldn't be my problem… When I turn the the heat on I will get decently hot air blow out for a few seconds and then it'll immediately turn to cold air… What do you guys think? Hopefully it's a fuse I'm thinking
- I have a 2000 dodge caravan and the rear heat works great but the front heat blows cold? The blower motors all work fine, has new water pump and brand new coolant. The top vents in the dash blow lukewarm warm but if you switch it to defrost it comes out ice cold but the rear heat still blows super hot air. Coolant level is full. I've read about the blend door could that be the issue? Could a coolant line to the front dash be clogged? I'm a ford mechanic but kinda stumped and have never worked on a dodge.
