Is my MAF sensor good or bad?

I cleaned my throttle body, throttle position sensor, MAF, and changed my spark plugs a couple weeks ago in an attempt to fix some idle issues (car died at a stop/slowing down but would start back up and run fine). Fixed the idle issue but now i'm having issues with my air intake not getting enough air to the engine. Best way to describe it is that when i'm accelerating, it takes the engine time to catch up. I'm trying to narrow down the problems I'm having with my air intake. I've got check engine codes P0506, P0102, P0113, P2106. With my car running, I disconnected the MAF sensor, when in park there isn't much difference and will stay on. However, when I drive it the "Engine Failsafe Mode"(or as some call it, "limp mode") message pops up.

My car is a 2004 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.6L. If it means something, I did clean my throttle position sensor by accident (with throttle/air intake cleaner thinking it was my IAC valve, which I found out I don't have because I have a fly-by-wire/throttle-by-wire system. Considering the fact that this happened after I messed with the intake, I can only assume I was a little rough somewhere and messed up something on the intake. It runs, but it just takes it a little bit to match the speed (once again, like not enough air is getting to it)

P0506 is just telling you what you already know - the idle is low. Check out Crash's post in the source for the rest of it.

  • Would a faulty water pump, on a 04 Ford Freestar, cause the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor to go bad? There's definite spray pattern on the underside of the hood from the water pump going. Could antifreeze have gotten into the fuel rail sensor and caused it to fault? Is it possible to clean the Fuel Rail Pressure sensor or any corrosion? Part is EXPENSIVE.
  • Bad fuel pump or bad Mass Airflow sensor? My truck us having very hard time starting up. It cranks over, putters and shakes really bad then dies. Once it finally becomes drivable, it almost stalls when accelerating from a stop or turning right Could this be a bad fuel pump, bad MAF, or another failing part? Truck is a 2006 ford ranger
  • MAF sensor or fuel injectors? My 1994 ford tempo lx v6 with 70k miles misfires on cold starts. I have changed spark plugs, wites, dist cap, rotors, and used fuel injector cleaner. Does the MAF needs cleaning or replace the fuel injectors?
  • Is it bad to drive with a faulty output shaft speed sensor circuit? My transmission light came on yesterday so I did a code check and got the code P0720 and P0722 meaning the speed sensor is not working properly. Is it harmful to drive the car with it malfunctioning? I drive a manual transmission 2001 ford focus, I haven't noticed any change in the way the car drives or shifts.
