Is a 1995 - 2001 second generation Ford Explorer dangerous or safe?

No I have been reading that Ford Explorers will roll over even with good tires or bad tires (notably Firestone). Will the Ford Explorer rollover with tires made other than Firestone and is in a very safe or very dangerous unstable vehicle?

Go for it.

If you drive it like a truck, you'll be fine. If, however, you try to drive it like a sports car, you'll have a very bad day. As a side note - The rear suspension went thru a major redesign on the '02 model to make the ride nicer…

They rolled over because people freaked when a tire blew. It's as simple as that. When a tire blows, you let off the gas and stay off the brake. The car will slow down by itself.

  • What is most harder to find a 1995-2001 Ford Explorer or a 1993 to 1997 Ford Ranger? I need to know which vehicle is more easier to find nowadays and 1993 to 97 Ford Ranger or I 95 to 2001 Ford Explorer.
  • How dangerous is water to a cold air intake? I have a 1999 Ford Ranger that I recently bought and it has pretty bad gas mileage and I'd like to fix that and the power behind the engine. Where I live we get pretty significant rain fall and some small puddles that you end up having to drive through. The last think I want to do is hydro lock my engine. Are heavy rain and small puddles actually a danger for hydro locking a CAI? Even if I were to buy one of the waterproof jackets?
  • What generation Ford Explorer should I get? I'm a 16 year old guy and I have decided that I want a Ford Explorer as my first car. What generation do I get? There are 5 generations. (1991-94, 1995-01, 2002-05, 2006-2010) Here's what I'm looking for. -Reliability -Long lasting -Style -Best driving in the snow I graduate in 2016. I will have this truck through 4 years of college.
  • Does the 1995-2001 Ford Explorer continue to roll over even with good tires? This is something I get confused on. I'm looking for a Ford Explorer that does not have a large rate of rolling over. I want a Ford Explorer from the model years of 1995 to 2001 because I like the way it looks. Even so most explorers these days are not equipped with Firestone tires but even so are the Ford Explorers from 1995 to 2001 currently rollover even with good tires (ex. Goodyear)
