2002 ford explorer sport has no heat?

I have a 2002 ford explorer sport and i get no air flow when turning the fan speed knob. It doesn't matter if its on heat or ac. Winter time is just about here and i need to fix it. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did the fan speeds fail one at a time over a period or all at once? Common for the blower resistor to go bad which causes you to lose fan speeds one at a time. If that did not occur but just stopped working, then you may have a bad motor or other issues.

Check for a blown fuse for the heater blower circuit… If that is OK, then it could be a number of other isues… Bad motor, bad resistor, bad fan switch, loose wiring connectors, bad ground wire connection, etc.

Test for power and ground at the blower motor using a voltmeter or testlight… Run around 10.00 or so at parts stores… If you have a good ground but no power, then you would have to track back through the power circuit find where power is not getting through to the motor… Bad fan switch or resistor, wiring issues, etc… If you have power for all fan switch settings but no ground, then repair the ground wire issue.

If you have power and good ground at the motor, then the fan motor is bad.

Blower resistor testing/replacement…

  • My son has a 2000 Ford Taurus, there's not heat in his car? The car is equipped with a Auto Climate Control Unit. When the heat is turned on the blower motor does turn on as if there's no power to the blower. We have replaced the blower motor and checked all the fuses and relays. Could this be the Climate Control Resistor or the all in one controls on the dashboard? Or did we overlook something else?
  • I have a 2000 dodge caravan and the rear heat works great but the front heat blows cold? The blower motors all work fine, has new water pump and brand new coolant. The top vents in the dash blow lukewarm warm but if you switch it to defrost it comes out ice cold but the rear heat still blows super hot air. Coolant level is full. I've read about the blend door could that be the issue? Could a coolant line to the front dash be clogged? I'm a ford mechanic but kinda stumped and have never worked on a dodge.
  • Where can I get a 6 lift for a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac? I've looked on rough country, tuff country, CariD and none had them so if you could tell me where I could find one it would be a lot of help… Thank you!
  • Ford Explorer XLT - Sport Appearance Package, vs Ford Explorer Sport? I'm currently leasing a XLT sport appearance package and wanted to know what the price difference would have been and what features I would get, If i would have just gone with the sport.
