1997 foRd explorer 5.0 no spark to 2 cylinders on 1 coil pack still runs and drives?
Truck still runs and drives coil pack was tested and replaced anyway but for the 2 cylinders (on same coil pack) has no spark why all the others is good
You have 2, 4 cylinder coils. It uses a Waste Spark system, using 1 coil for 2 cylinders. 1 fires in the cylinder on the power stroke and also fires one on the exhaust stroke. Use a Test Light on the plug for that coil. One wire should have 12V Constant when Cranking. 2 should have a flashing or blinking light, which is the trigger. If it doesn't blink it won't fire. The trigger comes from the PCM. But check the wiring and the plug.
Hi because that coil pack is broken and needs to be replaced. Simple even you could work that one out.
- When a Ford Coil Pack goes bad, does it do so all at once or does it show symptoms first? 96 Windstar is not firing, did not run rough, never hesitated, always silky smooth idle & acceleration, good MPG, no smoke, no rotten egg smell… This morning (warm weather) it will not fire.

- Will this coil pack work with my ford fiest? I have a ford fiesta 2003 1.25 74bhp 55kw, the part number for the coil pack is 988f-12029-ac. I have been looking on ebay and there seem to be a few variations of this part ie 988F-12029-AD, 988F-12029-AC and 988F-12029-AB, what are the differences between these? I have brought a part not long ago and it didn't fit, so really i don't want to make this mistake again. Can anyone help me out?
