Why is the ac in my expedition blowing hot air?
I have 2000 Ford Expedition and recently my ac stopped blowing cold air. It will blow cool air when I first start it, but then goes straight to heat. I've checked the refrigerant and its full. The compressor is also working fine. I changed the relay to see if that would help but no change. I don't know what it could be. Any thoughts?
Also the heater core went out about a month ago. But still had cold air until about a week ago. Don't know if that would be related.
Sounds like either the vent system or the heater control is not working properly. There are servo motors that open and close passages in the vents to allow for air to come from the heater, outside air, AC, etc. The reason it starts out cold is because the engine is cold. Once the engine warms up, the hot engine coolant is going through the heater core and air is probably passing through that and through the vents. It is possible that the control that allows the engine coolant to go through the heater core is stuck open. You said that the heater core went out a month ago. Do you mean that it sprung a leak and has been sealed off or something else? It sure sounds like the heater core is getting engine coolant and that the air is passing through it.
- Why is the A/C on 2002 Ford Taurus is not blowing cold air My freon is fine but when I have the A/C on max the motor engages intermittently. Should the motor run constantly while the A/C is on high? If it doesn't, any idea what could be wrong? Coincidentally, a squeal from the belt started when I started to use the A/C. It squeals when I accelerate, whether the A/C is on or not.
- Why is my 93 ford ranger 5 speed 3.0 heater now blowing out cold air? I have a 93 ford ranger. Last winter the heater worked descent. Blowing above warm air. Not as warm as my newer model car but it worked. The beginning of this winter it wasn't quite as warm as last year. Within 2-3 weeks its now blowing out cold air (defrost panel floor all vents). Last night at roughly 25-30 degrees I drove it approx. 10 miles occasionally turning heater/defrost on to try to defrost windshield some and upon returning home it sounded like boiling water under the hood.
- Changed ford ka heater control valve. Still blowing hot air? My car was blowing got air constantly when off or on cold dial. Iv changed the heater control valve twice and now it still blows hot but then does work at times (blows cold on cold). What now?
- I hear air blowing out of my air intake, when I trie to start my 96 Ford F-150? Me and a friend recently replaced the head on my 96 Ford F-150, straight 6. The old head cracked cause it ran hot. When we trie to start it, it sounds good like its about to start but stops when air blows out of the air intake. The distributer was not removed and the plug wires and spark plugs are right, baterey is good. What did we do wrong? Why will it not start?
