Is it safe to put F150 tires on an expedition?
We have a 2002 Ford Expedition which was in desperate need of new tires. My husbands uncle has a 2014 Ford F-150. He sold us his tires since he bought bigger rims. They are in great condition and had them installed at the tire shop. My concern is if it's even safe? The expedition tires look so much bigger than the expedition ones. My husband keeps telling me if it wasn't safe the mechanics wouldn't have installed them, I'm just curious if it's a good idea?
It's fine for you to use the tires from your husbands uncle's truck. The tires are a bit smaller in size but they will be ok there will be a tiny bit of a difference in the speedometer readings as the tire that came on most expeditions was 265/70/17 and the f150 had 235/75/17
20 mph =19.6
30 mph =29.3
40 mph =39.1
50 mph =48.9
60 mph =58.7
70 mph =68.4
80 mph =78.2
- Can 225/70R16 tires fit on rims that have 225/70r14 tires on them? I have 225/70r14 tires on my Ford ranger. I just got some 225/70r16 tires of the same brand, Cooper, given to me. Will they fit on the 225/70r14 rims or do I need to get rims to fit the 225/70r16.
- Will a set of 235/60-R17 tires fit a vehicle with 225/50-R17 tires currently? If they do I'm assuming there would be a MPH difference on the speedometer. Update: The 60 series set is from a 2014 Ford Focus and are stud-less winter tires. They are to go on a 2012 Ford Fusion.
- Is nebrock 0w 100 safe in a f150? Was looking up oils to see what would be best for my truck to make it last the longest it's already 13 years old and 160k miles and has never had an issue since it was new it takes 3w30 oil but this nebrock oil only comes in 0w 100 but from what I've seen its by far the best but just not sure how it work in a 4.6 Ford motor
- Is it better to ride on 32 inch tires or 33 inch tires on a 2010 f150? As of right now I have 33 inch tires on my 2010 ford f150 supercrew cab truck. It has a 2 inch leveling kit. The previous owner put 33s on it. When I make sharp turns I feel maybe the tire size is maybe too big? It's always making a grinding noise
