1998 ford expedition, water coming from muffler?
I have noticed that I have water coming from my muffler, not the tailpipe but the muffler. When I pull out of the drive it leaves a trail. When I parked it in garage I looked and around the end side of the muffler ( end facing the engine) it was continuously dripping out around the seam. Is this normal to have a puddle from there. I know it can come out the exhaust But seems like the muffler is bad if where they weld the pieces together it leaks? I don't know?
A little moisture coming out of the exhaust on starting or on cold humid days is normal. A cloud of steam or a steady stream of coolant means you have either a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head or engine block. A compression and leak down test would be the proper way to determine if you have such a problem.
Your muffle has a hole put in it for the purpose of letting the water from condensation out. Normal don't think to much into it the head gasket is just fine.
Water vapor is a normal by product of a gasoline engine.
Most likely is normal condensation in the exhaust- check again later in the day or after commute when its warm- it'll probably be gone.
- Why does water build up in water reservoir? Car is ford focus sedan 2003 1.6engine So we changed the water reservoir recently and now water builds up in the reservoir.
- Someone tried to hotwire my 1998 Ford Expedition? Someone broke into and tried to hot wire my 1998 expedition. It doesn't look like they tried anything with the wiring harnesses or the ignition itself. But they cut three wires, a large red ground, and two smaller wires an orange and a red one that feed through directly above the red ground. I haven't got a clue where either of these two lead to. Any ideas?
- I have a 1998 ford expedition with a 5.4l engine. It hesitates alot? It will rev up but has no power and knocks alot. It feels like it want to go but it won't. The muffler gurgles. What can it be. I changed the sparkplugs yesterday and its worse.
- 1998 ford expedition clicking sound from center console? I have 1998 ford expedition. I have a clicking noise coming from the center console between the drivers seat an passenger seat. I thought it was the CD changer but I unplugged it and it still makes sound. When I have the rear climate control on it lessens the sound some. I think its related to the rear control. Any ideas? Is there a fuse I could pull at all and which one if so?
