Can a o2 sensor make my car loose power I have a 02 Ford Escape?
Yes. If an O2 sensor fails it will cause your fuel/air mixture to run "rich", and not enough air is available for proper combustion. That leads to a loss of power, bad gas mileage and longer term it will foul the engine and intake with soot.
Happened to me when I was driving across country and the dealer couldn't get the replacement for a week so I just drove on it for another 1000 miles. Caused my throttle body idle motor to stick so my car would stall at stop lights. Cleaned TB, replaced plugs and ran combustion chamber cleaner (similar to seafoam) and all was well
