2008 Ford escape won't start? - 1
I got a new battery for my car and it cranked up all that day but not that night. I tried to crank it up and just the dash lights came on. I got it towed into my yard and was able to get in and gets things out of it. It sat there for about a month and now nothing happens. I have to use they key to manually unlock the door and absolutely nothing happens when I try to crank it up. No lights or sounds of any kind. The unlock button doesn't even work anymore. I tried to jump start it and got nothing. I did get sparks from the battery when I plugged the cables up to the battery. Is it the battery or something else
Buy a battery charger and a multi-meter, Charge the battery, start the car, test the voltage using the multi-meter at idle and about 3000k rpms - the voltage should be between 13 and 15 volts give or take a half volt. If not you have a bad alternator.
The Battery needs to be charged. It was too low to take a jump. Any time you wonder about the battery turn the headlights on and look at them.
The battery is dead, either because your car isn't charging it, or because there's a drain. Buy a cheap battery charger, charge it overnight, and your car should start so you can drive it to a mechanic.
- Why did my car start and die when put into gear? Now it won't start at all? It's a cold winter day (below zero) Car started right up! I let it run for about 2 minutes, I put it in gear and it just died. I figured it's cold out, not real surprising, but when I tried to start it again, it won't start! - I have a 2008 Ford Focus that won't start. It clicks when I turn the ignition but work crank. Got any advice? Also the radio will flicker on and off if I try to turn it on. Car ran fine 2 days ago. Also just put in a new battery.
- Car won't start even with jump start? I have a Ford Escort 2001. I checked the battery at Auto Zone, told me it was fine and had charge. The alternator is also good. The starter is also fine. When I turn the key there's no clicks. The lights on the dashboard stay on. Does anyone know what it could be? I've also checked the cables and connections.
- I have a 2008 Ford Escape 2008 2.3l, 4 cil, 4wd. Need to ask about the consumption, read below? When I bought it was giving me 22 miles/gallon combine, and more or less 19 miles/gallon in city. Now it gives me between 16 and 19 miles/gallon combine and 13 miles/gallon in city. What could be wrong that it consuming mote gas?
