What would be a good automatic transmission for 1985 302 ford engine 351 Windsor heads?

The motor is in a small truck with a manual transmission 5 speed from a 97 f250 which has internal problems
The rear end is a 410 gear
Would like a little less low end and little more top end

A C6 is a good heavy duty automatic that should bolt right up to it.

  • What is a good 5/6 speed Transmission that will fit onto a 302 Ford V8? I have a 1970 Ford Torino 500 and my C4 trans is failing. I'm kind of tired of the 3 speed, so I'd like to upgrade to a 5 or 6 speed to get better gas mileage at higher speeds, plus to go faster in general. I don't really mind if it's automatic or manual, but my car right now is set up for automatic.
  • On a 1985 ford 302 what can cause turbulence in the fuel filter? Engine has mechanical fuel pump and carburetor Has a glass filter before the carburetor it gets lots of bubbles and turbulence in the filter also if you park on a hill with engine up the gas runs back out of the filter The engine is in a 1986 Isuzu pickup it has 3 lines from tank 1 big 2 small I have only the big one connected to mechanical fuel pump
  • In what vehicle was the Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel put in? I got a Ford 351 Windsor 4-Barrel in my 1966 Ford Galaxie but I don't know what vehicle it was taken from lol.
  • Do 164 tooth flex plates interchange between 1977 351 Windsor and 400 Ford engines? I know the bolt patterns are the same and balance weghts changed on the 302 in 1981 to 50 oz from the 28.2 and that both Windsor and Clevelands used the 28.2 oz. What I want to know is are the dimensions the same from the flange surface of the crankshaft mount to the bolt mount for the torque converter and is the balance weight located in the same place on the flex plate relative to the bolt pattern.
