Can't get donut gasket to seal on 88 ford f250?
Just replaced the exhaust manifold and now it's leaking exhaust through the donut, I can't seam to get it to seal properly, am I supposed to hammer it into the pipe? Anybody done this before have any tips?
No hammering. Clamp on by the bolts. Compare the old to the new and see if the new is the correct one.
As Kenny said be sure you've got the right gasket, then tighten the bolts alternately a little at a time until you get to the proper torque. The gasket may not be seated properly due one bolt being tightened more than others.
- Can I pour head gasket sealer into my coolant tank? I have a 2002 Mercury Sable (Ford Taurus) with coolant leaking from the head gasket. There's no actual radiator cap or hose for me to access with the Blue Devil head gasket sealer I have. Will it work if I put it into my coolant tank?

- Does the oil pan have to be removed to change the rear main seal on a ford 3.0L V6 in a 2000 ford ranger? I have the engine removed from the truck and was swaping in a salvaged engine that all checks out good except for a slight leaking rear main seal. So, after inspecting the rear main seal, it appears as though a could just slide it out and a new one in. Does the oil pan need to be removed? Or can I just carefully remove the old seal and clean the surfaces good and install a new one?
- When changing the power steering pump on a KA (54) can you use PTFE tape to seal the pressure line from pump? I have changed the power steering pump on a ford KA (54) and when removing the pressure line from the pump there was some kind of seal on it but I don't know what it was, so I was hopping that PTFE tape would do the same job at sealing the thread. Any help please. Andy.
