Added (1). Note: I will be replacing the steering box with a factory Ford re-man so I'm not worried about pounding on the old one

I wouldn't be hammering on a steering box, but that's just me.

Puller for sure Even what will be trashed the arm or the box. It won't hurt the arm may not be so nice for the box though. I think i still have one

The length of the shaft coming out of the housing and diameter, makes the puller the tool of choice… Personally if i was replacing the box I'd loosen the nut and smack the Pittman arm perpendicular to the shaft, that usually does it.

Funny you bring it up, because I was just in that section of my manual.
Haynes says to use a fork, my Chilton s never got returned to me.
Not being able to locate my old fork, I d try a puller before getting a new fork.

  • Will a 2000 Ford Windstar lx fuse box diagram be the same as a 2003 Ford Windstar fuse box? I found a link about a 2003 but I need to know if it'll be the same for a 2000. If it ain't can anyone help me out with a link showing information like this but about a 2000 model? Thanks. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t11808484-2003_ford_windstar_fuse_box_diagram
  • 1999 ford taurus gear box/power steering messed up? I started my car up and suddenly the power steering locked on me. The gears wouldn't change. I have power steering fluid in the car and the pump works fine. I had someone check it out and they said whenever I shift gears my engine rocks with it and it slips out of place somehow. Is it worth fixing/how much would it cost or should i just sell it?
  • Do i need a pulley puller to remove my water pump pulley? I have a 1996 ford ranger v6 4.0 liter and i was wondering if i need a pulley puller to remove it and/or what other tools will i be needing. It doesn't seem too hard and it's right there so i think i'm capable. I replaced the serpentine belt but now i need to replace both. Also if anyone would be able to give me a link to a video or kind of give me the gist of replacing the pulley.
