Do I need to pay my company for damage I did to a car?

So I work at a car dealership and I was cleaning this ford truck I was done with it so as I was backing it up and the I lost control of the truck I wasn't going fast probably about 8 miles and bam I hit the rear bumper and door but the reason is because the floor was slippery due to the fact that I spray armorall on the tires so the overspray eventually gets on the floor and some of the armorall that end up in the floor probably rubed on the tires tread and caused the tires to lose control but they never provided me with something to clean the floor so that it wouldnt become a hazard to me or other cars so its their fault too I guess later the other day they provided me with a power wash machine to clean the floor but what do I need it now for I already crashed and they made me sign a paper referral that says that I will have to pay all damages or if I don't sign it I will be fired so what can I do and the camera only caught footage of when I crashed also there was a guy that wouldnt move and left me a tight space to get out of so what can I do I can't afford to pay about about 1000 dollars for damage it wasn't even that bad the parts just had dents wich were fixed up no new parts had to be bought so what can I do what are my rights

I messed up, pay

You KNEW the floor was slippery and STILL backed the car up? You are at fault. Maybe your employer SHOULD have known and done something. You KNEW and did nothing.

I have no idea what a "paper referral" is. A release? An agreement?

Again, a "guy wouldn't move," you had a "tight space to get out of," and you backed up anyway? YOUR fault.

Your right is to pay for the damage or be fired. Undoubtedly the dealership has insurance which will cover this. The company is probably seeking reimbursement. In SOME States, with certain auto policies, YOUR policy would cover this.

My experience with this was a mechanic at a MB dealership who wasn't "sure if he had enough room" and drove the passenger front corner of my car into a post. He also claimed "just dents" and that he wasn't at fault.

What do I know? He was driving, not me, not anyone else. My damage was well over $2,000 for "just dents" and involved re-painting a car that was three months old.

You are at fault. Either get fired or pay. If you get fired I would expect this to be followed up by a summons to Small Claims Court.

  • Did I damage My engine die to over reving? So yesterday i was driving and accidently pulled out infront of someone and downshifted and hit my redline 6000 rpm and the truck drove normal after that for 10 miles. I got home turned it off and went inside. Later that night i went outside and started it and it started to miss really bad and idle rough. Once i get it past 2000 rpm it runs normal. 2001 Ford Ranger 2.3 I4
