Check engine light comes on at Start and shuts off a few seconds after start in ford lcf? - 1

That's nice. Did you want to ask a question?

Why not read the owners manual so you don't have to look so?

That's what it is supposed to do!

The check light and on some cars the abs and airbag light are designed to turn on for a few seconds when the car starts. Possibly to show where the lights are or that they're functioning.

Yup, they do this to show you it is working correctly

As a systems test to show you that the warning lamps are all functioning the Dash Board Lamps are All supposed to illuminate for a few seconds when the engine is started. This is a test, so if any lamp does Not light it may indicate that the bulb is defective, so you can replace it Before a real problem occurs "without warning".

  • What's causes car to jerk and the check engine light to go on and off? My car was working fine yesterday! It's a 2005 ford explore. I went to turn it on earlier and it started jerking a lot! I let if warm up a bit than the check engine light came on than it went off and on again. It keeps turning on and off! I know I need to change my spark plugs soon! Can it been the spark plugs causing it to jerk and the light to turn on and off?
  • Check engine light comes on when the weather gets cold So I have a 2004 Ford Taurus SE and I bought it around a year ago. Now, every time the weather gets below around 50 or so the Check Engine light will turn on. But when it warms up to 55+ it'll turn back off. I use the system check in the car with the buttons and it says everything's okay. It'll probably shut off in 2 or 3 days, just wondering what's going on and how to make it stop?
  • Bubbling/Gurgling sound a for a few seconds after car is shut off? Ok, so, I have a 2007 Ford Taurus SE. I just had to have the head gaskets replaced due to the engine overheating and blowing them, the car has been running fine since, but, now, any time I go 15 miles or more, and return home, for a few seconds after I shut off the car I can hear a Bubbling/Gurgling sound behind the glove box on the passenger side. I have read and some say it might be trapped air… Any ideas? Is this a serious problem?
  • Check engine light comes on when fuel tank is low? I have a 2000 Ford ranger that has a check engine light come on when the tank gets low, but it goes off when i fill it up. Any ideas?
