96 ford Thunderbird v6 3.8 issue?

96 ford Thunderbird v6 3.8
I can get in car get off work drive home about 16 miles with no problem cut car off and when I crank it back it will idle too low and cut off unless I give it gas and hurry up and keep driving it will correct its self and give no trouble any idea what's causing this

Had the exact same problem with my Ford Explorer 4.0 '97. It seemed to be even worse when it was cold.
Engine tune up solved my problem.

Hold off on the tune up for a minute and clean the throttle body butterfly's and air by pass solenoid first.
