The tranny pan gasket usually starts as a slow drip, so I doubt that is the issue. There are two metal lines that go from the tranny to the radiator for cooling. On some models, the very end of that line is a rubber piece of hose, check that and the fittings. Some models have their own mini radiator (cooler) out in front. Check there also.

  • Transmission on 93 ford tempo? It's a 2.3 HSC. Can i drop the trans separately, or do i need to pull engine and trans together? Never done a tempo before, Reverse is gone in it, so assuming i need to change whole trans unless someone has another suggestion?
  • Is the transmission from a '92 Ford Tempo compatible with a '94 Ford Taurus? My transmission went out on my 1994 Ford Taurus and I can get a 1992 Ford Tempo transmission for a much cheaper price. I would please like to know if they are compatible. Thanks so much in advance! I'm a college student and I honestly can't afford much else.

  • Is it ok to drive a car with a transmission fluid leak for a week before getting fixed? I have a 2007 ford ranger with only 38k miles on it, recenntly I have been having minor delays when shifting into drive from reverse before it catches and I actually move forward. So i checked my transmission fluid which seems to be pretty low a good amount below the cross hatched area. So I added more fluid and then saw some leak onto the garage floor within 30mins. I have not seen any leak before, could i still drive it before i get it fixed next week without causing more damage?
