Retrieve the code and you'll have your answer… (my money says it's an ignition coil gone bad…) but scan it to be sure. AutoZone or O'Reilly's will scan it for no charge.
Flashing check engine light is a major misfire. Do not drive vehicle more than necessary. You are going to have to get a scan tool to check the codes on it. This will tell you which cylinder in misfiring, but it won't necessarily tell you why. Could be a bad coil, a bad plug, a bad connection to the coil… Or many other things.
