1997 Ford Wind-star overheating?

I got this Ford Windstar which seems to overheat. It has Anti-freeze and the fans seem to be working (one kicks in after it reaches a certain temp.) what else could it be causing it to overheat? And how would i check and/or fix this?

Stuck thermostat, clogged radiator, coolant pump wimping out. I'd start with the thermostat. It is easy to check and replace, as well as cheap. Rest of the stuff and the price starts to go up from there.

Google on how to test a thermostat. There are a few ways. Mainly involves heating it in water and measuring the temperature to see when and how much the valve opens. Replace it if needed.

I could go pages on how to test the rest. But Google is a good friend to ask how to check other parts of the cooling system.

Given the age of the vehicle, it can be any of those parts. Or even a combination.

I once had to replace the ENTIRE cooling system, including the heater core on a Buick because the entire system had problems. And it was about 15 years old.

Given todays' culture, I'll bet the coolant in that system is vintage '97.

But, yeah, if the thermostat comes out in more than one piece, it's bad, too.
