1962 Ford Fairlane Shift Thread Pitch?

I'm building a shift knob for a 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 and can't find the thread pitch. Does anyone know a website with a solid year by year database? Or does anone happen to know the thread pitch? It is a column shifter not the 4 in the floor.

Hi so what about using thread gauges to determine what it might be combine with the fact some of the earlier cars had a taper thread on such items.

You can get a set of thread gauges for about 2 dollars. If the threads not on a standard set you can buy a set for about 8 dollars with more pitches and sizes. You need to know both the pitch and thread depth.

No threads it's press fit… Break off old, tap on new. If your making a custom piece you'll have to figure out the interference fit for your material or epoxy it in place.
here's what the levers look like on the ends 1940 to about 1979 some minor changes to the knurling on the shaft. http://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_falcon_mercury_comet/productmedia/catalog_product_gallery/index/id/417666/image/0/… Changed a lot of knobs in the old days.
